Coachella without the sunscreen or the twitters

With all the cool kids at Coachella, you’d think they’d post a video or do more than Twitter about their pink VIP passes.  Frankly, they’re doing so much twittering I’m not sure they’re actually watching anyone perform.  So leave it to us, to post what we’ve seen on youtube thusfar.  Undoubtedly there’ll be a part 2 to this post.  Why isn’t anyone else doing this?  Why isn’t anyone broadcasting the whole thing?

The Killers should be shot for doing this Joy Division cover.  They should be tortured slowly for doing it badly.  Why does anyone like this band?

True Confession:  We don’t like The Smith much and certainly don’t like Morrisey’s solo work (even Def Leppard doesn’t write every single song in the first person!).  But this song is aces.

Not the greatest quality, but here’s the greatest performance we’ve seen thusfar….White Lies avenging the travesty that is The Killers

and here’s more

Can someone explain what happened to Franz Ferdinand?  Brilliant first record.  Tremendous live.  Now?  Blech…

Silversun Pickups doing their only good song.  I remember when Smashing Pumpkins were good…

It’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside, when I see Macca making more compelling music than most of the other performers at Coachella.

Again, not great quality but you can hear how great The Black Keys are.

  1. I feel the same way about the killers…i just don’t get it. and that was a rather annoying butchering of shadowplay.

don’t get me started on the twittering.

I would of loved to see the Black Keys.

oh and morrisey is ego on a stick, but I have to admit I like quite a few smiths songs, I just try and pretend its not him singing.

p.s.- thanks for this bit of a coverage collection…i would of loved to have gone.
